Doncic’s Heroics Couldn’t Topple Germany…
Luka Doncic and Team Slovenia put up a valiant fight against Germany in the EuroBasket 2025 quarterfinals, looking like they’d pull off another surprise. Luka was practically wearing a cape, scoring 39 points with 10 rebounds and 7 assists, despite having to play as cautiously as a ballerina on a floor full of marbles due to foul trouble. Slovenia held a slim lead till Germany hit a miraculous half-court shot to end the third quarter.
With Germany finally taking over in the fourth quarter, Slovenia’s run in the tournament came to a close, ending with a 99-91 score. The German team played like they were fueled by pretzels and turbocharged bratwurst, with Franz Wagner leading the charge with 23 points and Dennis Schroeder adding 20. Despite Slovenia’s early struggles in the tournament, they rallied to beat Italy and impressively topped the point and steal charts thanks to Luka’s superhuman efforts.
