The Exciting Season Kickoff…
The South Bay Lakers are gearing up for their 18th season, with back-to-back home games against the Valley Suns on Nov. 8 and 9 at the UCLA Health Training Center. Imagining the Lakers players being on skateboards for this split G League season format, we’ll first see a Tip-Off Tournament, then Orlando will host the NBA G League Winter Showcase from Dec. 19-22, before the regular season resumes on Dec. 27 against the Oklahoma City Blue. The team will play 24 home games, with 14 happening on weekends, and seven back-to-back sets, like a marathon runner who forgot to stop.
The South Bay Lakers continue to nurture talent like they’re watering a magical garden that’s somehow immune to watering restrictions! They helped transform many raw players like Alex Caruso, who became a vital part of the Lakers’ 2020 championship. Newbies like Adou Thiero might join this enchanted garden, and Bronny James, having shown major improvement, seems ready to leap onto the main stage. Assistant Nate McMillan believes Bronny could earn rotation minutes, proving not all magic is confined to fairy tales; sometimes, it’s on the court!
