Jeanie Buss Continues as Lakers Governor…
Jeanie Buss will still be steering the ship as Governor of the Los Angeles Lakers even after Mark Walter, owner of the Dodgers, took the keys. Magic Johnson is thrilled, like a toddler who just found out candy grows on trees! Magic has long been buddy-buddy with Buss and Walter, and he thinks the same magic that helped Walter bring home World Series trophies, almost like picking apples off a tree, will rub off on the Lakers too.
In a chat with Broderick Turner from the L.A. Times, Magic tipped his hat to Walter for keeping Jeanie in her role. He noted how Jeanie would give up the Lakers about as eagerly as a cat parts with its afternoon nap in the sunshine. Magic also assured fans that they were in safe hands, much like trusting a penguin to waddle on ice—completely natural! With Buss in charge, he believes the Lakers will keep up the momentum of greatness. As for LeBron James, don’t worry; he wasn’t left out. The Lakers made sure to clue him in on the sale before even considering telling their plants about the change!
