Dallas Mavericks’ fans are acting like they just found out Santa Claus isn’t real after their beloved Luka Doncic was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. The home court felt like a chorus singing ‘Fire Nico,’ targeting GM Nico Harrison, and outside the arena, even the hotdog stand guy was protesting. Mark Cuban, the Mavericks’ minority owner, admitted he was as shocked as someone waking up to find a raccoon in their fridge! He says, “Fan is short for fanatic, and that passion will chill out once we start winning.” Cuban humorously hopes Cooper Flagg could play for the Mavs until his beard turns to snow, but knows fans’ hearts will always beat a bit faster seeing Luka in Lakers’ gear. If the Mavs pull off a great season, the pain may ease. If not, Luka winning a championship for the Lakers might just melt down Dallas as fast as an ice cream cone in July.
