LeBron Eyes New Milestones…
LeBron James, like a superhero who simply refuses to retire his cape, is gearing up for his 23rd NBA season with the Los Angeles Lakers. Yes, the man who has played more NBA seasons than most of us have changed our phone numbers still has more records to break! Opting into the final year on his contract stirred the offseason pot, but he’s back, chasing another championship as if they’re the last bag of chips on the planet. This season, he’s closing in on Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for most made field goals, with just 350 to go. And considering LeBron shoots like a chef tossing pancakes, he should have no trouble passing Kareem again.
As if planning a surprise party for his milestones, LeBron could also surpass Vince Carter for most career seasons and Robert Parish for regular-season games, just 50 games away. Plus, he’s a mere two 3-pointers shy of overtaking Reggie Miller for sixth all-time as he enters a new season against the Warriors. It’s as if LeBron’s jump shot has transformed from a basketball into a homing pigeon, always finding its way home. Tyrese Maxey and other NBA stars can’t help but admire his persistent passion, which may just seal his status as the greatest of all time. Even Shaquille O’Neal has tossed his hat in the ring, backing LeBron over other current stars, which is as surprising as finding a penguin in the Sahara!
