NBA Christmas Day Spectacle Announced…

This week is 2025-26 NBA schedule reveal week, and fans are peeking at schedules like cats peering into fishbowls. The league is teasing fans with blockbuster games on the most important days, like Christmas Day, which might as well be renamed “Lakers Fan Day.” For as long as Santa’s been flying his sleigh, the Lakers have been playing on Christmas, but with LeBron James and Luka Doncic on the roster, the Lakers might as well be playing on every holiday, including National Cupcake Day. This year, they’re taking on Kevin Durant, Amen Thompson, and the Houston Rockets in the fourth time slot, like the main act after a day full of opening acts.

The Christmas Day marathon kicks off with the Cavaliers and Knicks at 9:00 a.m. PT, a wake-up call even louder than a rooster at dawn. As fans shake off sleep, the Thunder will then clash with the Spurs. At 2:00, Stephen Curry and the Warriors challenge the Mavericks, which is basically a prelude to the high-flying Lakers-Rockets game at 5:00 p.m. PT. The grand finale sees Denver’s Nikola Jokic take on Minnesota’s Anthony Edwards, ending the basketball extravaganza just in time for Santa to polish off the last Christmas cookie.
