So, the Los Angeles Lakers decided to throw a reunion party on their home court, inviting the Chicago Bulls for some hoop action. The Lakers were all smiles with their star-studded lineup unleashed, featuring the iconic LeBron James, Rui Hachimura, and Jaxson Hayes. Someone forgot to tell their defense to RSVP, though, as the Bulls swagged their way to a 146-115 win, leaving the Lakers trying to figure out if they had mistakenly invited Matador instead.
Jaxson Hayes loved having LeBron and Doncic around — they sure knew how to serve up assists like gourmet dishes. But after a sizzling start, Cobie White from the Bulls decided to rain on their parade with 10 flashy points, claiming the spotlight. Not to be outdone, Doncic threw down a stunning 17 points in the first quarter, keeping the crowd awake from the comfiest of couches.
Even a fired-up Austin Reaves couldn’t stanch the defensive leaks heavier than a broken hydrant. As much as LeBron and Doncic tried, the Bulls went into red cape mode, ballooning the Lakers’ deficit faster than a mascot’s costume. Now, the Lakers must pack up their barely deflated egos and hit the road for a four-game tour, starting with the Orlando Magic showdown. Here’s hoping their defense can get on board before the plane takes off!
