Lakers Draft Adventure and Growing Giants…
The Los Angeles Lakers were feeling ambitious and energetic, climbing the draft ladder like a caffeinated squirrel on a tree, to snag Arkansas forward Adou Thiero from the 36th pick of the 2025 NBA Draft. Lakers’ top brass, Rob Pelinka, thinks Thiero could end up as one of the league’s top athletes, a human cheetah on the court. At 6’8” and 220 pounds, Thiero is every bit the physical marvel of a superhero with a minor kryptonite: shooting from distance. But with the right training, he might just outshoot a cannon.
Comparisons to New York’s OG Anunoby are flying around faster than a paper airplane on a windy day. Pelinka sees Thiero’s potential to become a defensive stalwart and versatile player much like Anunoby, but with a unique twist, claiming even Superman has to admire his rim-jumping skills. Adou is set to improve his current 28.4% shooting from three, perhaps inspired by Lakers’ coach JJ Redick, who probably dreams of Thiero sinking threes while brushing his teeth. The rookie is eager to please, prepared to dance on skates if that’s what it takes for the Lakers’ glory!
