Lakers legend rests as new season warms up
The Lakers opened preseason with a 101–83 loss to the Suns as LeBron James and other stars sat out. While JJ Redick wanted more fire, fans missed the voice of Stu Lantz, who’s recovering from a medical procedure—and without him, even the microphones seemed out of rhythm.
Lantz, entering his 39th season on the call, is week-to-week but expected back by Opening Night. Deandre Ayton scored just one point, yet impressed on defense. Here’s hoping next time both Ayton’s shots and Stu’s jokes hit their mark.
