Lakers Legend Enters Basketball Hall of Fame…
The Los Angeles Lakers have seen many stars, but Dwight Howard was like a Superman trying to fit into a phone booth! After three separate stints with the Lakers and winning a championship in 2020, Howard is now part of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. This big man, during his time, was a basketball bulldozer, mowing down defenders like they were made of marshmallows. Howard’s career began with the Orlando Magic, where he was the king of defense, winning Defensive Player of the Year three times. His resume sparkled like a disco ball with five rebounding titles and two blocks championships.
The induction ceremony was more star-studded than a celebrity alien invasion! Howard was thrilled to share the stage with legends Patrick Ewing, Robert Parish, Dennis Rodman, and Shaquille O’Neal. His speech included thanks to his family, a nod to O’Neal for being his peaceful unicorn, and a shoutout to LeBron James. Even if his first stint in L.A. wasn’t a fairytale, it ended happily ever after with him helping to win the Lakers’ 17th championship. Howard may not have made the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team, but his Hall of Fame spot is shinier than a magpie’s dream collection.
