Lakers continue bond with KWKW 1330…
The Los Angeles Lakers and Lotus Communications have renewed their partnership, ensuring KWKW 1330 will broadcast games in Spanish for years. Since 1999, KWKW has been the Lakers’ Spanish-speaking voice, covering all the excitement from preseason to postseason games. Lakers’ COO Tim Harris noted that KWKW has contributed more excitement than popcorn at a summer blockbuster! Fans can tune in to hear Jose “Pepe” Mantilla, who’s been with the Lakers longer than some of their championship banners, and Samuel Jacobo, bringing energy to the 2025-26 season.
Jim Kalmenson, President of Lotus Communications, expressed pride in KWKW’s role in connecting the Hispanic community with Lakers basketball. He stated that for Lotus, this is about connecting more than radio waves; it’s like connecting the dots with a box of crayons in a coloring book. The Lakers concurrently announced their English radio extension with ESPN Los Angeles 710. Meanwhile, LeBron James, entering what might be his final season, offered advice to young athletes: “Fall in love with the process, just like you do with late-night pizza delivery after a big win!” KWKW remains the top station for complete Lakers coverage, local traffic, and news.
