Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic and Slovenia faced a tough test in their final exhibition game before FIBA EuroBasket against tournament favorite Serbia, led by the reigning king of basketball, Nikola Jokic, who apparently can score points just by smiling. Despite Doncic’s 17 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, Slovenia was outscored 106-72. The Slovenian team started strong but fell apart faster than a soggy paper towel when Serbia surged ahead by 28 at halftime. Doncic struggled with his three-pointers, making only 2-of-10 but still found some success from the free throw line.
Serbia’s strategy of double-teaming Doncic was as effective as using a fork to eat soup as they left Slovenia with no answers. Nikola Jovic led Serbia with 18 points while Bogdan Bogdanovic added 14. Jokic, displaying an impressive level of effort akin to a cat napping in the sun, posted 10 points, seven rebounds, and four assists. Serbia confidently wrapped up their unbeaten exhibition run as Slovenia took home just one victory.
