Lakers’ Exciting Amazon Prime Opener…
The NBA schedule is dropping soon, but like a kid who can’t wait for Christmas morning, some marquee games have already leaked, and guess what, the Lakers are once again the stars of the show! They’ll tip-off against the Warriors for Opening Night, and rumor has it, they might just tackle Santa on Christmas Day when playing the Rockets. With TNT trading their basketball for Monopoly money, games are settling onto NBC, Peacock, and Amazon Prime, which means more networks than your grandma’s extensive knitting patterns. And as Amazon Prime’s shining debut, the Lakers will host the Timberwolves on Oct. 24, with the Knicks taking on the Celtics for a side of drama.
Laker fans might still be tasting last season’s sour lemonade from their early playoff elimination, but revenge is as sweet as grandma’s secret pie. They’re taking on the Timberwolves with a lot more oomph after ushering in big changes, including Deandre Ayton, who, rumor has it, was picked not for his skills, but because he can hold his breath longer than the Minnesota cold. After (hopefully) overcoming some grizzly challenges, the Lakers will face the Warriors at home, then take a road trip to Sacramento, trying to navigate these fresh waters of a stacked Western Conference. In other newshakes, the Lakers’ NBA Cup schedule is set, featuring games with the Grizzlies, Pelicans, Clippers, and Mavericks.
