Missing their star-studded lineup, including LeBron James and a few other “household-name” absentees, the Lakers got steamrolled 118-89. Can someone remind the Lakers that playing basketball without their main players is like trying to make a sandwich without bread?
Giannis Antetokounmpo and his fellow Bucks were like unleashed titans, building an early 12-3 lead faster than fans could say “Can we have LeBron back?” The Lakers tried to bite back with an early 9-0 rally, but the Bucks just laughed it off, responding with a 9-0 run of their own that stretched into a staggering 16-0 spurt. As the first quarter wrapped up, the scoreboard read 34-19, and the Lakers were left wondering if they were meant to be playing a different game entirely.
Despite a heroic night for Bronny James, who threw down 17 points from somewhere deep in his inner Hall of Famer, the Lakers fell to a 30-point deficit before the final whistle blew.
