Lakers Lose Game, Search For Missing Stars…
The Los Angeles Lakers continued their journey of the mysteriously missing stars saga, facing the Brooklyn Nets with a super light lineup. Playing sans LeBron James and a few friends, the Lakers dipped into their “Who Can Fill LeBron’s Huge Shoes?” reserves. A 111-108 loss later, they learned filling those shoes might require a wand and a little bit of magic. Gabe Vincent hit the court like a house on fire, dropping 13 points early, but sadly, fire extinguishers were ready.
The Lakers had a fiery first quarter, leading the hotpot with 28-16, but someone forgot to tell them it was a four-quarter game! As the game progressed, Brooklyn’s players began showing off their aerial skills, snatching rebounds like they were avocados at a farmer’s market. By halftime, the Lakers found themselves trailing 48-47, presumably asking, “Wait, what happened?”
Then, despite a late game dance-back from Austin Reaves and Luka Doncic, who scored points and looked fabulous doing it, Brooklyn had other plans. A few too many rebounds and shots from ex-Laker D’Angelo Russell sealed the deal, leaving the Lakers saying “Next time take us to your leaders!” What’s next? A double helping of Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets, which might just be the salt on this wound.
