JJ Redick’s Hilarious Quest for Unlikely Hero…
Friday night saw L.A. Lakers coach JJ Redick playing the ultimate game of “Trust Fall” with rookie Christian Koloko against the Denver Nuggets. Missing six key players, Redick was apparently trolling with his lineup choices! Without Jaxson Hayes or Trey Jemison in sight, Alex Len and Koloko turned into surprise saviors. Instead of folding faster than a house of cards in a windstorm against Jokic and Murray, the Lakers actually showed up, armed with fierce determination and Koloko’s new-found vigor.
Koloko, who was probably Googling “NBA survival tips” just a week ago, stepped into the spotlight as Denver’s defenders realized this dude’s got hops. His surprise endeavor included 20 glorious minutes of play, wracking up eight sizzling points and seven solid rebounds. Sure, he collected fouls like they were going out of style, but his spirit was hotter than a jalapeño pepper!
Despite falling just short, the quirky squad, including the likes of Dalton Knecht and Shake Milton, left JJ Redick channeling his inner “Proud Dad” vibe. While the big win eluded them like a parking spot during Christmas shopping, their hustle was contagious. Meanwhile, Redick’s hopeful tape on Lakers scrappiness is surely going to fetch solid views on the team’s YouTube channel, lacking only cute puppies to make it viral!
