Smith’s Silence on LeBron Drama Continues…
Last season, the basketball world had more drama than a soap opera marathon when ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith and Lakers’ LeBron James faced off! It all began when Smith critiqued Bronny’s game and LeBron’s parenting style on First Take, like a chef critiquing a banana for being too slippery! LeBron, naturally, wasn’t thrilled and when he confronted Smith at a Lakers game, it was like watching two mountain-sized egos crash in a wild battle that even Hulk would have admired. Since then, Smith’s declared he’s perfectly happy to never exchange pleasantries with LeBron again, presumably unless it’s in a surprisingly civil wrestling match!
Adam Silver, the NBA commissioner, even chimed in on this grand drama to ensure we all knew who had front-row seats to the showdown of the decade! Silver’s wish is for these fiery debates to stick to basketball, like a referee trying to keep a basketball from bouncing off the court and into a cooking show! Despite the fireworks, Smith remains a fan of LeBron’s basketball skills, yet somehow sees LeBron as nothing more than a talking head on TV. LeBron seems to return the favor, making it clear that Smith’s words are less important than a puff of orange arena smoke on the Pat McAfee Show. So, tune in next time on “As the Ball Turns” for more NBA antics!
